Editor's Statement

Growing up in southern Europe has given me the opportunity to experience many different food cultures. From Paris through Provence to the Côte d’Azur, from Barcelona to Valencia, from Venice through Tuscany and on to Rome, I delighted in simple, peasant fare. And I also savored the more refined gourmet dishes. For me, appreciating good food is like being enchanted by a beautiful melody. The flavors should resonate off the palate and fill the senses with bold, unexpected textures and subtle nuances. The experience should be a fulfilling one and remembered long after you leave the restaurant. It is one that you will want to share with friends and family. I created this dining magazine as a resource for those who, like me, are passionate about food “of all types” and are looking for suggestions of where to dine, and dine well, on Cape Cod and the islands. This guide is designed to stimulate readers’ gastronomic senses and help them choose a dining experience that fits their tastes and personality. To help you make a decision where to dine, we’ve included a selected list of 150 restaurants with descriptions and information about each. I urged advertisers to let their wonderful creations speak for themselves and let the food photography tell the story. They all agreed. After all, it’s really mostly about the food.
